Among the
theories on aging, biological theories are a group of theories based on the
aging of organs and systems. These theories have great difficulty boarding,
because it is difficult to separate what is due to the aging of what is its
effect.
The aging
manifests itself in a number of alterations in each level of biological organization.
These theories consider aging as well as growth, is determined by the
information in our genes. Discussing certain programmed processes or attributed
to the aging process as a result of aging or of an accumulation of errors in
DNA and RNA synthesis.
Therefore,
its essential purposes are:
- To understand how aging occurs at the
molecular level in cells, tissues and body systems
- Analyze how it affects the mind-body
relationship to aging and individual chromosomes in the general process of
aging.
This
requires understanding how it works the aging of cells, systems and influences
how chronological age and the different conditions in each individual.
In
contrast, psychological theories have focused on cognitive, personality and
management strategies. Here, aging is more than a physiological process,
involving a complex interaction of phenomena including psychological and social
components.
These aging
theories are based on the transformation of the human body after the age of
physical maturity, transformation of appearance, behavior, experience and
social roles. Also, it is based on individuals grow and age as a result of
heredity and environment. They deal with the organization of behavior in the
adult years, and attempts to explain how political causes, economic, legal,
etc. may influence the way the individual accepts his age. And the ultimate
goal with these theories is to predict successful aging.
CONCLUSIONS
Undoubtedly,
there are many causes that cause our bodies age, there is no single cause, a
single theory or a single explanation for this, as they are multiple factors
that lead to aging.
Different
biological theories on aging pose different views on the possible causes, over
time, will alter our body slowly deteriorating it, causing the gradual aging
and bringing it closer to leaving the service.
